Introduction
OECOS GmbH is an environmental planning consultancy, resident in Hamburg and internationally active. OECOS GmbH mainly deals with spatial development concepts, the site development of individual locations and the conduction of environmental impact assessment studies at all planning levels. The OECOS team works predominantly on an interdisciplinary basis, with geographers, biologists, landscape planners, economists and jurists, for the identification of individual solutions to integrate land uses and avoid possible environmental conflicts. Our team is also regularly commissioned for R&D projects in which we investigate innovative ways of sustainable development.
Owing to our coastal location in Hamburg, we have specialised ourselves in working in coastal regions and have acquired methodical knowledge for both on- and offshore projects for many years. The main emphasis of our work in the last years has lied on the environmentally friendly integration of wind energy use into the land use structures on- and offshore. However, the experience and competence of our team reaches far beyond these narrower fields of activity.
The responsible managing director of OECOS GmbH is Associate Professor Dr. Karsten Runge. He is a member of the Hamburg architect chamber and represents the branches landscape planning and environmental assessment as an associate professor at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg.
