Current environmental impact assessments for offshore wind farms
Since 2008 we have been carrying out the necessary impact assessment for the application procedure of an offshore wind farm project in accordance with the German decree concerning seaborne installations. The wind farm area is consistent with the regional planning programme project for the German Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea, since it is located outside of the protection zones of the programme, such as zones with limited land use, FHH and bird conservation zones. The OECOS team carries out independently most of the analyses prescribed for evaluation impact assessments by the Federal Office of Ocean Shipping and Hydrography, particularly the recordings of migrant bird species and marine mammals. Sub-studies concerning fish species and the benthos are assigned to subcontractors.
