Visual impact analysis for the SKY 2000 and Baltic1 projects
The evaluation of wind farm project effects on the seascape plays a very important role because of the particularly high visibility in this mainly unstructured landscape. OECOS GmbH has been developing computer- and video-supported representations to achieve an impression as realistic as possible. Amongst other things, our planning office has carried out comprehensive visual impact analyses for the two offshore wind farms "SKY 2000" and "BALTIC 1". The methodology which we developed for the visual impact analysis of offshore wind farms has been published in the German handbook of environmental impact assessment.
The illustration shown below is part of a number of representations which were prepared for the BALTIC I offshore wind farm. The ranging-pole in the first photograph serves as a comparison scale and is used in a standardised distance of 7 m (subdivision 20 cm).
